Taryn Sheppard is an artist and architect (AIBC) who holds a Master’s degree in Architecture from the University of Toronto (2010), a Bachelor of Fine Art degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design University (2005) and a Master of Fine Art degree from Emily Carr University of Art & Design (2020).
Her art practice explores the notion of meaning within architecture through a variety of mediums, and on a broader scale the relationship between architecture and capitalism in the twenty-first century.
Taryn’s research has been supported by the Canada Council for the Arts and the BC Arts Council. She is the recipient of two Lieutenant Governor's Awards of Excellence in architecture. Taryn operates her art practice in Vancouver on the unceded land of the Coast Salish peoples.
